Events such as Columbine, 9/11, and Virginia Tech remind us of the necessity to be able to alert parents of emergency situations.  Also, when roads are in such a condition to seriously affect the operation of the school buses or in any way jeopardize the well-being of students, the schools of the District may operate on a two hour delay or close.

When a decision is made to delay the opening of or close schools due to inclement weather, an announcement will be made through the following media outlets by 6:00 a.m.:

WEEU, 830 AM
WRAW, 1340 AM
WRFY, 102.5 FM
WIOV, 105.1 FM or 1240 AM

Television
WFMZ (Channel 69 TV) 

Announcements concerning delays, early dismissals, and closings will be posted on the district's homepage. Parents can also register to receive notifications from the district's E-Alert Emergency Notification System. For more information, please click here.
