After a month of intensive practice of their multiplication and division tables, third-grade students at the Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center were ready for what has become a highly anticipated event – Fact Frenzy!
At the beginning of the four weeks, the third grade, combined, answered 10,091 multiplication and division problems correctly, with two minutes to answer per question. At the end of the month, their number of correct answers increased to 19,859!
Although it’s a friendly competition, Fact Frenzy is serious stuff. To become one of the 68 finalists competing in this event, students had to correctly answer 120 multiplication and division questions.
“Your timed test scores have increased tremendously,” third-grade teacher Christopher Miller told the students before Fact Frenzy began. “It is a great credit to you and your hard work. Give yourself a round of applause!”
