WASD Welcomes Mrs. Abigail Houck! We are thrilled to share some exciting news about the newest addition to our district’s leadership team. Please join us in warmly welcoming Mrs. Abigail (Abbie) Houck as the Director of Teaching and Learning for the Wyomissing Area School District. Mrs. Houck brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and passion to this vital role, and we are confident that her leadership will greatly benefit our students, staff, and community.

She has begun serving in this role and is off to the races getting acclimated to her position and to Wyomissing Area School District. Most recently, Abbie served as a Project Administrator in the Office of Professional Learning at the Berks County Intermediate Unit. She has 21 years of experience as a secondary math teacher, department chair, and curriculum coordinator for math and has spent years developing and implementing data systems and structures to improve instruction and ultimately, student outcomes. Her approach to education is centered on collaboration, innovation, and a student-first mindset—principles that align perfectly with the values of the Wyomissing Area School District.
We are so excited to have her on our Wyomissing Area team.

Over the next few months, Abbie will be spending time visiting classrooms and becoming familiar with our work in the district. She will be joining building-level meetings to learn more about our initiatives. As Director of Teaching and Learning, Abbie will focus on strengthening our instructional programs, supporting our teachers and principals, and enhancing the educational experiences we provide to our students.

We are fortunate to have Mrs. Houck join our district, and we are confident that her contributions will make a lasting impact on our schools. Please join us in welcoming her to the Wyomissing Area family. Together, let us support her as she steps into this important role and continues the tradition of excellence that defines our district.
