We are fortunate for all that WAEF has done to support our school community this year. This year WAEF funded many district initiatives including:

The Book Vending Machine at WHEC promotes the love of reading and increases access to books for our students while operating in conjunction with our positive behavior support plan.

The electric vehicle at the JSHS allows STEM students to be involved in the construction of the vehicle. This project also includes the design and installation of a 3D camera that can be used to create 3D image maps of the school and community.

The Greenhouse Project at the JSHS. By creating the greenhouse, students will learn about the building process and then be able to grow and experiment with any botanical factors such as composting, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, and the effects of acid rain.

The music recording studio in the choral suite is designed to be a recording studio, which includes a booth for recording, and workspace for production work. This grant supports the Keyboarding and Production class and will allow for expansion into Music Production, where students will be trained in running live sound, and recording. The space/equipment will also be used to record our smaller chamber groups (Orchestra Small Ensemble, Jazz Band, Camerata), and is already wired with the capability to run live sound/video directly over to the auditorium for use during live productions and events.

Senior Day at the JSHS includes a parade of graduates that inspires and motivates elementary school students and allows the graduating class to share and celebrate their achievements with the teachers from their past while also creating a sense of community among the 3 district buildings. The parade is followed by a picnic for the senior class for students and teachers alike to celebrate their graduation.

Additionally, WAEF has supported many projects for individual students, families, and classrooms, along with scholarships for our graduating seniors. They make a significant impact on the opportunities available to students. Thank you to all who support WAEF so that they can support our schools and students!

Congratulations to Spartan educators Mr. Chris Stanchek and Ms. Meghan Tierney who were recognized by the WAEF student committee and received the WAEF Student Choice Award this year!
